Prayer Request

There seems to be a bug going through the group and a few students have gotten sick.  It seems to be a 24hr bug, but we would appreciate everybody's prayers.  Nancy thinks she might have picked something up from the plane ride.  Thanks for your prayers and we will continue to keep you all posted.

  4. Could we have a little more information please? Telling us our kids are getting sick now, in light of the almost complete lack of information we have been given up to this point does not help to assuage our growing concerns.

  5. Psalms 30:2 O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.

Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.

Psalm 34:7 For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.

Dear Father, thank you for your protection, your healing hand and your angels to guard these precious children and humble leaders. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen

    In Christ Alone,

  7. PARENTS:

This is a note from Nancy regarding the students health:

As Patrick already said, this is a 24/48 hr bug. Symptoms include fever, headache, chills, and body aches, but those who have gotten sick have recovered nicely. Some students did not effectively drink fluids as instructed and required extra fluids by intravenous. These are the following students: Katie Seeger, Alyssa Irish, Megan Farrell. There are several other students that have typical traveler's diarrhea, but are doing well with Pepto Bismol. I can talk further with you when we arrive home, but be assured everyone is doing well. - Nancy

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me (Heather Janson) as I have been talking regularly with Patrick. My number is 817-575-7401.

  8. God uses mission trips to teach all those involved. The students aren't the only ones who are learning. This trip should be a learning opportunity for parents also. God loans us our children to love and teach. One of the most difficult parts of this job is learning to let go. A trip like this might be the first step in trusting God to do his will in our child's life. It's hard to believe that within a few short years, our children will be adults. God knows that we have the tendency to worry, so I think that's why he gives us this gentle reminder in Phil. 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the PEACE OF GOD, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Trusting God doesn't mean that everything will be as we planned or wanted, but it does mean that we can have the peace of God as He does his work through us.
